15 days to go...

So, tomorrow will be the 2 week mark!!! im really excited! now im just waiting for my visa to come back. today i did the hardest thing in all my preparation for China...I drank some medicine. i have to drink some twice before i go to help prevent me from getting sick....it was the worst! i have never drank anything so bad in my whole life. drinking it made me feel sick. but i drank it all...and i get to do it again next saturday, next time i will use colder water. today i went to bible study and was extremely encouraged about being a christian in China. at first i was really nervous because i have heard many things about persecution in China. but my friend helped to reassure me that everything will be ok. i hope this trip gives me the chance to really focus on God, and to help strengthen my relationship with Him. i hope this trip opens my eyes.

18 days!!!

I can hardly believe that there are only 18 days left until I'm sitting aboard a plane and flying half way around the world! There are only 2 and 1/2 days of classes left, then i have 3 exams, and then im gone. seems likes its too good to be true. on sunday it will only be 2 weeks until i leave, seems like just yesterday i was still at the 40 day mark. this is totally the best year ever. im also going to have the best birthday ever, what can be better than a birthday spent in China? even better my b-day will last 2 days!!! China is 11 hours ahead of NS time, so when it is the evening of May 15, here in NS, it will be the morning of May 16(my bday), so it will be my birthday in China, then when it is the morning of May 17, it will still be the evening of May 16 in NS...so i have two days of birthday!!! haha. pretty sweet! anyway, im so excited, i can't wait until i get off the plane in Shanghai and know im officially in China, lets hope I don't get lost in the airport.

19 days and counting

So, if you're wondering why I say 19 days when it is still the 31st of march, well its because im not actually counting april 19 as a day because i leave my house at like 5am. Also for my wonderful friends in China, incase you were wondering, I'll arrive in China on April 20, I think sometime after 2100 (9pm). So I leave in 19 days, but don't arrive in China for 20. Yesterday I applied for my visa, im hoping it comes back fast. im starting to get nervous! of course im very excited, but this is the first time i have ever been on an airplane. i have always wanted to go to China, so for me, this trip is amazing. something i have always wanted to do. i can hardly wait! im so excited to meet all my wonderful friends, and to take lots of pictures to show all my friends here. i plan on making lots of new friends, but don't worry, i won't forget the old ones!

25 days until China

So 25 days until I leave for China. I can hardly wait! I went to go get my visa photo and had a bit of trouble. hopefully it all gets sorted out. i also started packing. washing blankets and summer clothes and packing them. im not taking a lot, but my blanket and pillow take up a lot of space so im going to have to take an extra bag i wasn't planning on taking. getting more excited everyday! i can't wait to meet zi meng!!! she's a super nice girl who i'll meet when i get to china. it's gonna be so nice to finally meet her! i have lots of new friends in China. lots of people waiting to meet me, lots of people i can't wait to meet. its awesome!

26 days and counting

there are 26 days left until i'm on plane and flying halfway around the world. for those of you who don't know, im going to china. fuzhou, fujian to be more specific. its hard to believe. i have my plane ticket, my passport and a few immunizations. i just have to get my visa and another needle and then im on my way! hard to believe! i've decided to create this blog as a space to give updates about my plans and my time in china while posting lots of pics. i leave april 19 and will be back in canada august 1. ill be in china for 3 months and 10 days. its hard to believe its almost here!
